What businesses will be able to do
The notes below describe workflows that exist in the product today for a business that already has access. Public subscriptions are not open. A label says when something is more limited than the heading suggests.
Inventory
A business can keep products, quantities, and an inventory value. Each product can carry a minimum, a maximum, and a reorder level. Damaged quantity and written-off quantity are tracked separately from stock that can still be sold.
Location records exist, including a cash register. Product quantity is one total for the business. It is not a separate bin count for each location.
Sales
A sale is recorded with its items, then saved. Revenue and history stay with that business. Supported currencies are stored on the transaction, and different currencies are not added together as if they were the same money. A receipt can be printed from a saved sale.
Purchases
Supplier purchases record incoming inventory, the cost, and the purchase itself. Saving the purchase is what updates the stock. Looking up a barcode only fills the form.
Returns
Returns are their own workflow. The intent is to keep the inventory and the transaction history consistent with what was returned, instead of editing the past by hand.
Product management
Products can be created with a name, a selling price, a cost, and optional identifiers such as SKU and barcode. The catalog belongs to the signed-in business.
Business management
A business can store its own profile, users, employees, and location records. Permissions follow the person's role. An owner can add people later. This public website does not list those people.
Reporting
Reports can show sales, purchases, inventory, costs, revenue, and a gross-profit figure calculated from those records for a currency. They are there to help you read the activity. They are not a forecast, and they do not promise a profit.
Receipts and documents
Saved sales can be printed as receipts. Invoice records exist for workflows that issue them. Document numbers are assigned by the system. Printing depends on the device and the browser.
Barcode scanning
A camera or a handheld scanner can identify a product that already belongs to the business and place it on the open sale, purchase, return, adjustment, or product form. The scan does not save the transaction. An unknown barcode does not invent a product.
One platform, more than one kind of business
ROVENTAQ is being developed so the same operations can serve different kinds of businesses, rather than a separate product for each industry. Some specialized workflows are not included. The solutions page says which ones.
